Bella's 2nd Birthday Party!!

It's so hard to believe that Bella turned "2" on September 2nd. The last year has gone by so fast and now we're already talking about the upcoming holidays. Bella had a wonderful birthday party at home with a Minnie Mouse theme. Her cake turned out so much better than we hoped. Pat "the cake lady" created an exact image of our invitation which was spectacular.

This was all that was left after the party was over.

As you can see here, she had a rough start to her big day. The party mood hadn't hit her just yet.

Bella has shown an increased interest at school for riding ponies. So, she was completely thrilled when we brought our her present from "Mommy and Daddy". She doesn't know how to ride truly lady-like just yet so she's practicing to be a cowgirl when she grows up.

We were so excited that DiDi could come to the party to celebrate with us. The only problem was that Bella kept teasing her by calling her "Grandma DiDi" despite our best efforts to help her just say "DiDi".

Here are a couple of us with her right after the party was over. It was already past her bedtime so she was beyond delirious at that point. The sugar high was wearing off and we either had smiles or tears depending on who was holding her at the time.

We also wanted to thank everyone for all of the wonderful cards and gifts you sent! We truly appreciate your thoughtfulness! We love you all!

Do you think Bella will ride real horses when she gets older? Do you have a place near there?

It's so funny that you should bring that up. There is a horse farm/ranch just up the street from our house. In fact, it faces our pediatrician's office so we pass by it quite a bit. We've talked about taking the girls up there to see if they'd be interested. We're planning on taking them to a great pumpkin patch in our area next month and they usually have "pony rides" so we might try that first. Has Ethan expressed an interest in any sports (i.e. soccer)?

It is so neat watching children grow up, and seeing what there interests are, and how they change as they grow. Ethan hasn’t showed an interest in sports yet, but we do want him to sign up for soccer after he gets use to preschool. He has a hard time following/understanding instructions, but I think a sport where he can hang out on the field or run around if he wants to would be great for him. We also want to get him into swim lessons, since he is still nervous around the water. He freaks out when his sister splashes him in the bath! She, on the other hand, is fearless when it comes to just about anything! I can’t wait to see the pumpkin or pony ride pics! We already have Riley’s Halloween costume (Devil Princess, because she is so devious), but we are still trying to figure out something for Ethan.
