We thought this was so funny because they couldn't even keep up with
Granma and Granpa! (This was taken when they were waiting for dinner.)
Since we were going to be in Florida for almost 10 days, Britt and I scheduled some much needed Mommy & Daddy time in St. Pete Beach. Destination...Don Cesar hotel...
For about 30 seconds we felt bad for leaving the girls for the next 3 days...Granma & Granpa had a busy schedule for them while we were gone.
First stop...The Homossassa Springs Wildlife Park...
Then, Granma and G-G-Mother (their great-grandmother) took them to the new Homosassa Library. Since Granma teaches school she knew just what books to pick out for their time together.
Meanwhile...Mommy & Daddy enjoyed the lavish accomodations at the Don. If you haven't stayed their before, you have to go at least once in your life. Check out their web site...
http://www.doncesar.com/ . We definitely recommend it! In fact, we are considering going back again in the summer of 2009.
What a cutie if I do say so myself...
On one of our nights out in St. Pete we went down to the beach to watch the sun set and met some nice people who were gracious enough to take our picture together. This was the first one of just the two of us.
On the last day we were at the hotel, Granma and Granpa brought the girls to spend the day at the beach with us. That way we could all enjoy the amenities and spend time at both the pool and beach.
Do you think Avery's posed for one too many pictures in her short life???
Bella preferred the pool...mainly because she could jump in to Granma and get rides around the pool.
Beautiful girl!
The very next day we started our next adventure at Sea World. The theme of the day was "this is a marathon...not a sprint!" As you can imagine, Shamu was the first thing on the agenda since they girls had been counting down the days to see him. The show was better than we'd hoped! We even managed to escaped getting drenched.
Just kidding!!! :) (no kiss required, thank goodness!)

Daddy got roped into the Carousel with the girls!

Daddy got roped into the Carousel with the girls!
This is the true meaning of "a picture speaks a 1,000 words". As we walked toward the front of the park every person that we met along the way pointed and smiled at her. How could you not. She is the epitomy of a fun day at Sea World!
The next day, Aunt Jan took us on a relaxing boat ride down the Crystal River.
(This is what a relaxed person looks like. ha!)
The river is not only home to a place where manatees congregate, but it also has a great restaurant that is familiar to ALL Homosassa residents...Margarita Grill!! We pulled the boat into the pier and stopped for fried oysters and fries!! (The girls particularly liked the oversized elephant.)
At the end of the river where the Wildlife Park sits, Aunt Jan parked the boat and jumped in for a nice dip in the river...
