"Up on the roof there, arose such a clatter..."

We didn't hear the tiny pitter-patter of little, pajama-footed girls scurrying downstairs on Christmas morning. Avery was a very good big sister and let us all get Bella up before we went downstairs to see if Santa had come to DiDi's house. (We forgot to leave him a note on our fireplace at home in Texas redirecting him to DiDi's house. That was a major tragedy avoided. Another note to self...)

Even Jasmine had been keeping a watchful eye for Santa...

After the hair was pulled up out of their faces...for pictures as much as for them to see Santa's toys, we made the journey downstairs with bated breath.

The girls found handwritten notes to each of them by Santa telling them how proud he was of each of them and how he had seen how good and kind they were to one another. He also mentioned he hoped to come to their house again next year.

Santa had lots of surprises for each of them and a wonderful train set for them to play with together. (Good in concept, Ho-Ho. More difficult in execution. Now that Bella is experimenting with her "mine" phase, Avery is working on her patience virtue.) Avery starts quoting to Bella, "Bella, God says to be kind to one another." To which Bella replies, "Nnnnnope!" We truly appreciate your good efforts sweetie!!!

The girls even let Daddy share in some of the fun...

Then, the fun really began when they opened a present DiDi had for both of them...DRESS-UP CLOTHES! From hats and gloves up to their elbows to boas and beads. Avery immediately became fond of her purple poofy-skirt and white fur shawl.

I can't wait to see what they dress Daddy up in for their first tea party!

Merry Christmas and God Bless Us, Everyone!!!
