Thanksgiving

Thanksgiving this year was experienced by the Howard family in Memphis. We packed up the Cruiser and headed out of town on Tuesday night at about 9:00PM. We arrived in Memphis at 4 in the morning. Traveling at night really helps out as it knocks off an hour of drive time due to the lack of traffic during the holidays. It has taken us as many as 9 and a half hours to drive the trip in the daytime and that was in good weather with only one child about 3 years ago. So a cup of McDonald's coffee and we hit the road on Tuesday. This also helped free up some time to help out with a few chores that needed to be done around DiDi's house and yard.

Thanksgiving morning came and Avery had a great time this year keeping up with the Fant family tradition of watching the Macy's Parade with your Mommie. CarrLee caught Avery trying her best to show off her dancing skills while she was watching one of the many shows that were showcased in this years parade. She really had a good time this year listening to the music and of course she could not wait to see HOHO!!!

Bella spent the morning pretending she was a balloon in the parade....

For our Thanksgiving Feast we headed over to Uncle Chris and Aunt NiNi's (denies) house which is over in Collierville now since they have moved out of Cordova in 2005.

For dinner Chris grilled two cornish hens and also cooked up an awesome sweet potato casserole as well as a host of other sides. Grandaddy was also with us all there and brought a stuffing dish that was made with his own family cornbread recipe. We brought the traditional strawberry and cream cheese dish that is always good and the spinach casserole as well as the pan of Sister Shuberts rolls. http://www.ssrolls.com If you have never tried these rolls from your grocers freezer then you just plain have not experienced roll nirvana :).
