Trip to Austin July 2006

The little lady atop of the Capitol Building stands 15 feet tall. That sort of puts things into perspective when viewing this photo.

In July Grandma and Grandpa came up from Florida to visit and to keep Avery and Bella while CarrLee and I could visit Austin. We had a blast of course while we were there.

Some things to note about the trip:
1. The '80's cover band "The Spazmatics" are a must see on Wednesday nights at Cedar Street.
2. The Grilled Jumbo Jalapeno shrimp entree at the Roaring Fork http://www.roaringforkaustin.com/ on Congress on the ground floor of the Inter-Continental Hotel is a awesome dish. You have Jumbo shrimp covered in a mango butter sauce served over spinach and portabella shrooms. Man I am getting hungry just thinking about it.
3. The Ahi Tuna at Manuels on Congress http://www.manuels.com/ was really good but the best part of our dinner there was the margarita called the 310.
4. The grounds at the State Capital building are just magnificent.

We stayed at the Austin Folk House http://www.austinfolkhouse.com/ and enjoyed the comfortable room (#7) there as well as the breakfasts in the morning. One big perk to the stay there was the excellent customer service provided as well as the recommendations for food and fun.

There is so much to do in Austin that we will no doubt go back soon and visit. Likely during the summer time again as school was out which made our stay there nice and quiet. Thanks again to Grandma and Grandpa for staying with Avery and Bella while we could enjoy a quick getaway.

That is all for now. Enjoy the photos!

Britt
